Stepping Stones to Dragon NaturallySpeaking (Being Developed)

Welcome… My name is Sherry and I Love Training People to Use Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Usually I do one-on-one, in person training.

I am just learning how to do Training via the internet.  There is so much to come and I am learning as quick as I can how to make this site great.

Notice: This website will be changing… Daily!

My goal is to have every possible step covered here, to make your journey in learning to use Dragon a fun and exciting and powerful experience.

Most  People  Start  with  Lots  of  Questions  ?  ?  ?

  • Will Dragon NaturallySpeaking Work for Me?
  • Will it work on my computer?
  • Which Dragon Do I Need? Which Microphone?
  • It Isn’t WORKING! Help… Is It Dragon or Me or My PC (or Mac)?
  • Stepping Stones to Dragon…

I will get User Group signups on here soon.  As soon as I can figure out how.  :-)  In the meantime, read About My Passion and leave me a note is you have ideas or requests.  Looking forward to getting to know you!     Sherry M

Thanks, Steph, it is good to see you! I have actually found a theme that is great! Will start setting it up next weekend. It will let me post my videos and audios and lessons. I am really excited. Take a look at it if you have time. It is called Shelf and it is on the WordPress site. Been working too many hours on my old business… :-)

Hi, I saw your blog through SA. I left a comment on your article. I Facebook-ed this site and also put it in a group I’m with on Facebook that’ll get you probably 100 views at (idk if you have a Facebook or not). This group is made to mainly socialize each other’s articles for helping rank higher in Google’s SERP’s.

But to be honest, I’m anxious to learn more about this DragonSpeaking software from your site. I don’t know a whole lot about it, so I can read more about it from your site in the future. I quickly checked Google, and saw like $250 products or whatever on the right hand side, but anyway. Good luck with your blog especially starting out. :) You seem like you’re headed in the right direction.

Hey Seth, Thanks for the Comment… I love Dragon and love sharing it in person.

This week I have set aside the afternoons to get my website up with a new WordPress Theme and finally start posting some beginning training videos.

Will also work on explaining the ways of establishing which Dragon will best fill your needs.

Please come back and visit. It is taking me a lot longer to figure out how to best present the material on a website than I thought it would.

Hi Sherry,
I read your profile on WA and decided to visit your site. You are a lot farther along than I am. I am using Dragon for Mac and got it to work. I had to use a desk mic due to my cochlear Implant processor being in the way for the head mount mic. I would like to know if the new update for the Mac offers enough value to justify the cost. Also, it works better in the AM than in the PM. Should I do a PM Profile voice training? If I can figure out how to put an additional profile on it, I may see if it helps!

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your comments here. Which version of Dragon for Mac do you have? I will try to let you know the benefits other clients are seeing. And I can give you step by step for adding additional profiles.

I have some Dragon users that have set up additional Profiles for “With Allergies”. If you are experiencing that big of a difference I would try having separate profiles for AM and PM. What changes… your voice? other people in background? traffic? Air Conditioner Hum? TV in background?

I have a separate profile so I can hang out in my bird room and dictate. It actually works. :-)

Talk to you soon. Sherry

Hi Sherry,

Wanted to touch base with you. I guess my voice changes from day to night. So set up a AM and PM profile. I am using Dragon Dictate for Mac 2.5. They just issued a new version but don’t know if it is worth the cost.

Will you have a guide on using the program or a e report I can purchase? Do you know of any consultants that teach this? I know you do in your area. Will uyou offer a web based training?

Hi! Just re-read your article on Street Articles. Wondering what you suggest in starting with Dragon? And – do you suggest others too or is Dragon best in your opinion?

Thanks. Getting closer to getting one and wanted to get from you if you offered because I remembered your article on the street;)

Hi Sherry, I ran across your profile in WA. I am reading the info on your site right now.
This thing called Dragon may be exactly what I need. I am so slow at typing that I loose my thoughts while hunting and pecking, so I am not accomplishing much activity on my web site.
Am interested in learning all about this. I am following you on WA. Thanks for your help in advance. Thank you-Jerry Mc

Hi Jerry,

I recommend the Version 12 Premium for most people (Dragon Home is missing some key features).

I worked with a person last week and his basic dictation speed was 90 words per minute after 2 hours training. That is misleading because what really takes the time is the learn how to control the computer and “teach” Dragon (correct Dragon in a way that the program actually learns)

Have you read my article over at Street Articles? Dragon NaturallySpeaking – Star Trek or Two Year Old Precocious Brat!.

Just remember, Dragon just speeds up our typing. It doesn’t help with our thinking time. When we are not Speaking to Dragon, it is best to tell it “Go to Sleep!” and then “Wake Up!” when we want to speak through it again.

I am so hooked on it! Sherry M
